Local News22 September 2009A year of hard graft results in increase in Dingle Tidy Town overall markings
by Ciarán Williams Following a year of hard graft at local level, adjudicators awarded eight extra marks to Dingle in the National Tidy Towns Competition this year - bringing the total up to 254 out of a possible 400 overall. The main increase came in the Landscaping and Natural Amenities Sections with the New Roundabout and Link Road at the Sportsfield classified as a huge asset being completed very much in keeping with the locality. However some marks were decreased in the Overall Development Approach Category as the report stated a greater effort was needed from individuals, groups and business outlets in keeping the local work group to live up to their comprehensive 3 year plan. It is intended to hold a meeting in a few weeks time to discuss the issues raising in the report and plan a course of action for the coming year. >
