The Stonehouse is one of the most unique restaurants in the world; situated on the world famous Slea Head Drive on the Dingle Peninsula, it overlooks the vast, blue, Atlantic Ocean and the Blasket Islands. This award winning restaurant serves excellent food in a genuine Irish 'stone house', the entire building is constructed in stone, in the time honoured tradition of the area. The Stonehouse is also adjacent to one of Ireland's most famous Celtic monoliths, Dunbeg Fort, which welcomes visitors from all conors of the earth every year. With such spectacular scenery and its unique stone-work surrounds, visiting the Stonehouse is an experience in itself - and that's before even begin to talk about its amazing menu! It is also a family-run restaurant, proprietors David Foran and Michelle Long-Foran and their team there to greet you.

AMAZING FOOD AT AN AMAZING LOCATION
The cuisine at the Stonehouse could be best described as 'old traditions enlivened by innovation'; there you will find exciting, mouth-watering dishes made from the finest local produce. The menu features fresh, locally caught fish; delicious West Kerry bred steaks as well as a host of other exciting options. Home-made soups, Seasonal Sicilian Salad, Dingle Bay Mussels, Goat's Cheese Crispy Pastry Cup, Crab Meat and Mango Salad, Ballydavid Smoked Mackerel and Oven Baked Brie Tartlets offer the perfect appetizer. Main courses such as Pan Fried Chicken Supreme, Garlic Roast Vegetables, Prime 12oz Sirloin Steak, Pan Fried Barbary Duck Fillet and Roast Stuffed Loin of Honey Glazed Pork make for a sumptuous meal. Tempura of Local Cod, Black Sole on the Bone, Pan Seared Dingle Bay Scallop and Prawns, Grilled Fillet Blasket Turbot and Pan Fried Fillet of Monkfish with Dill Sauce showcase some of the finest fresh seafood in the world, caught right on their doorstep in the waters of the Atlantic. For dessert, the Stonehouse offers wonderful home-baking such as Home-made Warm Apple Pie, Irish Ice-Creams, Warm Chocolate Fondant, Baked Blueberry Cheesecake and Meringue Nest filled with fresh cream and strawberries. Irish Coffees, Guinness (on draught straight from the barrel) and a wonderful selection of crisp whites and decadent red wines provide the perfect accompaniment to an amazing meal - overlooking some of the world's most spectacular scenery! The Stonehouse is also the ideal place to drop in for a spot of afternoon tea or coffee as you journey around West Kerry - their home-made scones, fresh breads and cakes are worth the visit!

ALL TOURS ARE WELCOME: Bus tours or larger groups visiting or travelling around West Kerry are always welcome at the Stonehouse. Situated in Fahan at the location of world archaeological site Dunbeg Fort, it presents the ideal spot to stop before continuing on towards the Slea Head Drive. Visitors can enjoy morning coffee, lunch or dinner, take in the sites (as it also presents the perfect place to take some amazing photographs), perhaps visit the fort before continuing on their way. A mere 10-15 minute drive from Dingle town, ample parking is assured for buses. The Stonehouse has recently been renovated for your pleasure and it now features a function room complete with dance floor and entertainment area. This year, David and Michelle would like to invite you to host your special event at the Stonehouse. Christenings, communions, birthdays, anniversaries, family get-togethers, club nights, socials and even weddings are catered for. Michelle and David can also advice on entertainment for your event along with organising local accommodation or taxi/bus services. The team at the Stonehouse can work within your budget to create the perfect menu; with a full-bar licence, everything you need is under one roof. The spectacular setting of the Stonehouse provides a unique place to host your event which is sure to impress your guests; the stunning surrounds also offers the perfect backdrop to photographs.

SUNDAY LUNCH AT THE STONEHOUSE ONLY 9.95 EUR : Enjoy an authentic Sunday Roasts or Irish Stew - full lunch menu also available serving fresh fish dishes, fresh salads, home-made soups and freshly baked breads, please call ahead during the winter months.

The Stonehouse Café and Seafood Restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and Friday through Sunday for dinner serving light-bites, lunch and evening meals.
