New Year's Eve Fireworks & Countdown in DingleVenue: Dingle Marina, Dingle, Co. Kerry, Ireland.
The 'boom' will be back for a limited time in Dingle this coming New Year's Eve as the town gears up for a stellar display of fireworks which will light up the night sky, ushering in 2012 in style.
Last year local guesthouses, B&Bs and hotels were packed to capacity and the local vibe was amazing.
The recession will turn session in Dingle as a thrilling fireworks display will be hosted on December 31st by the Dingle Business Chamber at the head of the pier at aprox 9pm.
Last year's event saw people turn out in their thousands; such were the crowds that many visitors and even locals opted to park outside the town and walk in the see the amazing light-show sponsored by local businesses in the town.
Pubs and restaurants are sure to be packed as party-goers of all ages are set to congregate in the town centre at the Mall Bridge where a digital countdown clock will be beamed via a projector onto the gable of a large building enabling everyone to take part in the countdown towards 2012.
The Dingle Fife and Drum Band will then march through the town as the clock stikes midnight, making their way to the Mall Bridge to greet the party-goers.
There is sure to be plenty going on in the towns many pubs and restaurants with nite-clubs at An Droichead Beag and the Hillgrove providing appropriate party venues.
Despite last year's record numbers, the night went off without any major incidents and a feeling of goodwill was generally in evidence as the singing and dancing went on into the early hours.
"We look forward to welcoming so visitors over the festive season and New Year" said Risteard Mac Liam of the Dingle Business Chamber.
"We feel the town has a real and genuine charm at Christmas with the Wren's Day, the Fireworks and other activities which entertain both young and old."
